The scariest part of finishing is a book is* the moment you realize that people will read it and they will have an opinion about it. Will they l l7/ove it? Did they hate it? What did they think? These are the things that have run through my mind. All thoughts could feasibly be true but I am ready for the answers.
I am extremely appreciative of everyone that has purchased Remember and has taken the time to tell me what they thought of it. Now I would love to see your official reviews (Greedy aren't I?)
Asking for someone to review my book feels a little to close to the dreaded school book. (Don't get me wrong, I loved reading the books and talking about them -- just not writing why I liked it.) As much as I would hate to bring up any painful memories of elementary school, I am going to make the request anyway. Forget being called up to the front of the class to present your book report to realize that your hot lunch has stained your white shirt and that following your classmate Shauna's presentation will only shine the light on the fact that you were not prepared. No one will be watching as you let the book world what you think of Mara Stone, Gram and the elemental magic they protect.
So I will now graciously ask that If you are inspired to write a review of Remember after you have read it, please give your honest feedback by submitting a review at one of the online retailers.
I have always been guilty of listening to the words of a song too intently. At times in my life listening to the radio was too painful...every song seemed to know my heartbreak. "Yes, Katie Perry, I am a firework," I would say back to the radio.
Other times, the song would bring back amazing memories. Like the memory of the little boy that was so moved by Pharrel's Happy that he launched a dance party of 15 kindergarteners.
Today the song that spoke to me was Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud. He gave me an image of Mara and Cole. My ideal couple. Flawed. Insecure. But most of all completely in love.
The second book in the Protectors of the Elemental Magic series picks up where Remember ends.
The story of Mara Stone and her family has just begun. No one said having a gift would be easy.
I write because my drawing skills are nonexistent. The vision in my head does not transfer to paper or in this case the computer.
I learned something new today....
To see the text in a RSS Feed in Google Chrome, you have to add an extension. So my fellow chrome fans, check out DivTab Templates video for tips on making your web browsing experience better.
The story that began with Remember continues with the second book, Exigency.
As the story unfolds, I will be posting teasers.
