The Council of Eternal Light is preparing for the birth of Jacob & Milly Crowe's child. The more the child grows, the weaker The Reaper's powers become, due to the strengthening of His bloodline through Jacob Crowe. Julius Archibald hopes to finally be free of The Reaper when the child arrives, and plans to use the baby to secure the Council's survival.
Meanwhile, a stranger arrives in Wildermoor, with the power to take down The Reaper's demon army. This man is known as the Trickerjack, and he quickly gains a group of disciples. After a public display of his powers, he lures the remaining living residents of Wildermoor to a mirage-like mansion in the centre of the plains, claiming that he is their saviour and their only hope of survival.
As Frank Doyle escapes several attacks of the umbra, he finds himself in St. Dymphna's Research Facility... where the identity of Patient 29 is finally revealed.

Chris originally hailed from Basingstoke but moved to sunny Devon after graduating from Staffordshire University in 2005. He lives in Newton Abbot with his wife and twin children, and currently works as a logistics supervisor.
Being a fan of horror film & fiction, sci-fi and heavy metal, he naturally worked towards his own novel whilst writing three different short stories - all of which will have morphed in some way to form what will become The Wildermoor Apocalypse trilogy. Upon discovering and taking part in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) 2014, Chris was finally given the chance to bring all of the pieces together to write the first in this series – his debut novel, ‘Acolyte’.
Chris cites James Herbert, Dean Koontz, H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe among his literary heroes.

In this collection of short stories, you’ll meet vampires, zombies, elves, and aliens. You’ll step into an old haunted house. You’ll even witness a trial of the Kafkaesque sort, set in the distant year 2668.
But you’ll never guess how any of these stories are going to end.
Twisted Tales from the Northwest are chilling, subtle stories of latent horror. There’s not much blood spilt, but still, maybe you should refrain from reading this one at night.
